Akshita Chembolu serves as a Lecturer in the Applied Economics Section of the Department of Economics at Utrecht University School of Economics. She teaches and coordinates courses including Economics of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Organization, Intermediate Microeconomics, Mathematics for Economists, and Macroeconomics I, with additional experience in academic writing and research skills instruction.
Her educational background features a Research Master's degree in Multidisciplinary Economics from Utrecht University School of Economics and a bachelor's degree with honors from India's Jindal School of Governance and Public Policy. During her master's studies, she held research and student assistant roles.
Chembolu's research centers on social entrepreneurship dynamics, specifically examining gender gaps, prosocial motivations, and compassion-driven decision-making networks. She aims to develop mixed-methods approaches to analyze how altruism influences entrepreneurial ecosystems for local and regional societal impact, operating under the Entrepreneurship section within Utrecht University School of Economics.

She actively contributes to course coordination and pedagogical development while pursuing her Basic Qualification for Higher Education (BKO).
