Akiko Fuse serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She co-directs the Advanced Certificate Program in Autism Spectrum Disorders and is a licensed certified speech-language pathologist. Her teaching portfolio includes undergraduate and graduate courses on speech and language development and disorders, assessment, and intervention.

She utilizes interdisciplinary methods including systematic reviews, eye-tracking, and psychophysiological measures to inform clinical practice and policy.
