Aisling Walsh

Dr. Aisling Walsh is a Lecturer in Qualitative Methods at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences' School of Population Health. Her research focuses on health services and systems, particularly in maternal health, disability, and global health contexts. She coordinates international research networks and trains researchers in qualitative methods across Africa.

Current projects include developing health information resources for women with epilepsy, maternal health services in Ireland and Malawi, disability service delivery during COVID-19, and health needs of Ukrainian refugees. She leads an HRB Applied Partnership Award on epilepsy care and contributes to studies on obesity services and refugee health.

Publications demonstrate expertise in mixed-methods approaches to healthcare transitions for young people with disabilities, community-based breastfeeding support, and participatory research methodologies. Work consistently addresses health equity through community engagement and policy-relevant health services research.
