Caitriona Cahir

Caitriona Cahir is Senior Lecturer at RCSI's Data Science Centre with expertise in pharmacoepidemiology and health services research. She holds a PhD in Health Services Research from RCSI and an MPH in Epidemiology.

Her research examines medication adherence patterns, patient safety in prescribing, and quality-of-life outcomes in chronic conditions. Key programs investigate drug-drug interactions in older adults, endocrine therapy adherence in breast cancer, and post-pandemic cancer care improvements. Methodological strengths include large database analysis, behavioral interventions, and mixed-methods approaches.

Recent publications demonstrate focus on predictive modeling for adverse drug events, multinational medication safety studies, and cancer survivorship during COVID-19. Teaching includes postgraduate courses in biostatistics and population health methodologies.

She directs research on medication management funded by HRB and NIHR, and leads the Postgraduate Diploma in Population Health and Health Services Research.
