Dr Aisha Macgregor is a Research Fellow (Evidence & Evaluation) at the University of Stirling, affiliated with the IMPACT UK Centre for Implementing Evidence in Adult Social Care. Her work focuses on dementia, ageing, mental health, and social justice, emphasizing the intersection of rights, care practices, and ethical frameworks in health/social care systems. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Glasgow (2019), where her thesis explored compulsory treatment orders and human rights compliance in mental health tribunals.
Her research expertise includes implementation science, realist evaluation, and improving palliative care for care home residents through the NIHR-funded ‘Needs Rounds’ study. She contributes to the Dementia & Ageing Research group and the ‘Living Well’ research theme at Stirling.
Macgregor’s work bridges academic inquiry and practical policy, advocating for rights-based approaches in healthcare and advancing ethical care practices through evidence-based evaluation.
