Aisha Adams

Dr. Aisha Adams is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Catawba College, located in the Hedrick Building. She holds a PhD and MS in Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia, and a BS in Psychology (with a minor in Education) from the University of Florida. Her research explores the interplay between memory and perception, particularly how these processes influence learning in educational settings. She emphasizes the impact of external stimuli (e.g., emotional distractions) and the development of effective learning strategies like metacognition.

Dr. Adams actively promotes equity and diversity in academia. She teaches courses in General Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Memory, Research Methods, and other psychology topics. As co-Faculty Advisor for the Psi Chi International Honor Society Club, she has supported over a dozen psychology majors in attending regional conferences, fostering their academic and professional growth.
