Jillian C. Marshall is an Associate Teaching Professor of Psychology at Connecticut College, where she has been teaching since 2012. She serves as faculty adviser for both the Psychology major and minor and the Neuroscience major, and co-advises the College's chapter of Psi Chi: The International Honor Society in Psychology.
Marshall earned her B.A. from Mercyhurst University and her M.A. in Psychology from Connecticut College. As a Conn alumna, she maintains deep involvement in the college community through multiple service roles.
Her research focuses on the impact of stress and anxiety on memory formation, animal models of spatial learning, and factors affecting circadian rhythms and sleep architecture. She also investigates sports psychology and elite performance in conjunction with identity development and well-being. Marshall teaches PSY 100: Introduction to Psychology and associated labs, having developed new curricula including an intensive 5-week online PSY 100 course.
Marshall serves as chair of the New Faculty Orientation Committee, faculty fellow for the Endeavor Faculty Development FYS Advising Seminar, and member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. She holds specialized training in Green Dot (sexual violence prevention) and Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention.
As an active student advocate, Marshall regularly attends campus events in support of her students. She advises the Women's Club Lacrosse organization and serves as faculty liaison for the Women's Varsity Lacrosse Team. Each semester, she and her PSY 100 students participate in community service activities including the Walk to End Alzheimer's and Walk for Multiple Sclerosis.
