Dr Ai Yu is an Associate Professor in Organisation Studies at the University of Southampton's Southampton Business School. She specializes in Gender Studies, Organizational Behavior, and Ethnography. Her research focuses on gender, body, and identity in work practices, alongside power dynamics and accountability in organizational settings. She employs ethnographic methods to explore real-world interactions and has published on topics such as corporate environmentalism, digital surveillance, and crisis leadership during the pandemic.
Dr Yu holds a PhD in Psychology from the London School of Economics and is a feminist scholar with expertise in poststructuralist philosophies. She teaches Business Ethics at the undergraduate level and co-teaches Qualitative Research Methods for master's students. Previously, she taught Organizational Behavior, Knowledge Management, and Project Management for over a decade.
She currently supervises four PhD students in Business Studies & Management and actively accepts applications for interdisciplinary research projects aligning with her interests. Her work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing ethical leadership and organizational accountability.
