Dr. Ahmed Siraj is a Professor and Faculty Executive Officer at Lehman College, part of The City University of New York (CUNY). His research focuses on Enlightenment studies, postcolonial theory, and comparative literature, with a particular emphasis on colonial legal frameworks and political philosophy. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
His notable works include Archaeology of Babel: Comparative Literature, Critical Method, Colonial Law (2017), which won the MLA’s Scaglione Prize, and The Stillbirth of Capital: Enlightenment Writing and Colonial India (2012). Recent publications explore topics such as civil society in Enlightenment thought and colonial discourse analysis.
