Levi Thompson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies and Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. His academic focus spans modernist literary developments in Arabic and Persian poetry, with particular emphasis on postcolonial and transnational contexts.

Research Interests: Modernist poetry across Arabic and Persian traditions, Cold War-era cultural exchanges, and the construction of literary canons in post-Ottoman contexts. His work often examines how poetic forms negotiate political and cultural transformations.
