Dr. Adwait Khare is an Associate Professor of Marketing in the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). He holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh (2003) and has been a faculty member at UTA since 2010, previously serving at Quinnipiac University and the University of Houston. He has extensive experience in research, teaching, and academic service.
His educational background includes a PhD in Business Administration - Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh (2003), an MUA in Urban Affairs from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (1997), a DUP in Urban Planning from the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University (1993), and a BA in Architecture from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (1990).
Dr. Khare's research centers on consumer behavior, with key interests in patterns in consumption behaviors, hedonic versus utilitarian preferences, word-of-mouth behavior, effects of self-identities on product preference, and effects of decision contexts on product preference. His work integrates psychological and behavioral perspectives into marketing theory, particularly in food choice, identity, and sensory decision-making. He has published in leading journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Marketing Letters.

He has reviewed for over 20 top journals, including Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.
Dr. Khare leads several academic initiatives, including serving as the Principles of Marketing Course Coordinator and Program Coordinator for the Research Seminar Series (2012–2023). He has chaired search and curriculum committees and contributed to strategic departmental and college-level initiatives. He teaches courses such as Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, International Marketing, and Marketing Research at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
