Adriane Fang is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of the International Program for Creative Collaboration and Research (IPCCR) at the University of Maryland's College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. She holds an M.F.A. in Dance from George Mason University (2009) and a B.A. in Dance and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (1996). Her research focuses on Modern Dance Technique and Embodied Anatomy, blending performance, teaching, and choreography.
As a dancer and choreographer, Fang has worked with renowned companies like Doug Varone and Dancers (1996–2006) and has been a guest teacher globally. Her awards include the 2007 Bessie Award and recognition as a faculty mentor. Notable works include *Grains* (2014), a Kennedy Center-commissioned piece, and collaborative projects with artists like Colleen Thomas. Fang emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and pedagogical innovation in her roles at UMD and through IPCCR initiatives.
