Adrian Rus

Dr. Adrian Rus is a Professor in the Social and Behavioral Sciences department at Southwestern Christian University. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Texas Christian University (2012), with prior degrees from Dimitrie Cantemir University in Romania. His research focuses on child maltreatment in institutional settings, developmental psychology, and public health issues affecting Romanian children and families. Key areas include the consequences of abuse/neglect on institutionalized children, epidemiological studies on child and maternal health, and cognitive-behavioral therapy applications.

Dr. Rus has authored/co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and two books on child welfare and psychological interventions. His work frequently examines systemic issues in Romanian residential care systems, including peer exploitation, sexual abuse, and academic achievement disparities. He also investigates mental health interventions for religious populations and medical students' stress management.
