Jody Todd Manly, PhD is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rochester and Clinical Director of Mt. Hope Family Center. She specializes in evidence-based interventions for vulnerable children/families, with over 30 years of NIH-funded research on child maltreatment's developmental impact. Her work bridges clinical practice and research through translational paradigms.
Key areas include maltreatment classification systems, trauma-informed care, and prevention strategies for depression in maltreated youth. She co-leads the TRANSFORM National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect, developing scalable interventions. Her research integrates genetic, neuroendocrine, and psychosocial factors influencing treatment response.
Major contributions include the maltreatment dimensions framework now used globally. She trains professionals internationally via World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) and provides expert testimony on child welfare policy.
