معرفی
Adrian Jordaan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research focuses on understanding environmental variables influencing the growth and survival of populations, the structure and function of ecosystems, and effective management policies under environmental constraints. He specializes in the historical ecology of the northwestern Atlantic, movements and management of Atlantic sturgeon and river herring, and spatial aspects of marine ecosystems, including marine protected area design.
Dr. Jordaan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maine (2006). His research areas include Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Organismic & Evolutionary Biology. He has contributed significantly to studies on fish population dynamics, habitat connectivity, and the impacts of environmental changes on aquatic ecosystems.
In his research, he employs acoustic telemetry and life cycle modeling to explore fish migration patterns and population recovery strategies. His work often addresses the ecological and management challenges posed by climate change, such as shifts in phenology and species distribution.
Dr. Jordaan is affiliated with the Department of Environmental Conservation and has been involved in collaborative projects related to marine spatial planning and offshore wind energy assessments. His efforts aim to balance ecological conservation with sustainable resource use.
