Ado Jório

Ado Jório serves as Deputy General Director at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), leading research and development of optical instrumentation for nanostructure analysis with applications in novel materials and biomedicine. His extensive academic leadership includes prior roles as Dean of Research, Director of the Technology Transfer Office, Head of the Physics Department, and Coordinator of Graduate Programs at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Research Focus:

His expertise centers on optical characterization of nanomaterials, particularly through Raman spectroscopy and analysis of carbon-based nanostructures. Current work bridges fundamental physics of phase transitions with translational applications in biomedicine and advanced materials development, building on his foundational research in incommensurate systems and nanomaterial optical properties.
