Aditya Dutta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal & Food Sciences at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. His research focuses on mitochondria-mediated cellular responses to oxidative stress in reproductive systems, utilizing chicken and mouse models alongside human samples to address both agricultural productivity and human health.
Education:
- B.Sc in Biochemistry (Honors) from University of Delhi
- M.Sc in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
- Ph.D in Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology from Syracuse University
- Postdoctoral training in Reproductive Cancer Biology at Columbia University
Research Interests: The Dutta laboratory investigates the mechanistic basis of oxidative stress in reproductive organ systems, employing advanced multi-omics approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) to study reproductive efficiency in chickens and drivers of prostate/ovarian cancer in humans. They also explore the role of the microbiome in these processes.
Teaching: Aditya Dutta teaches courses in animal physiology, reproductive physiology, veterinary biochemistry, and graduate seminars.
