Alexandra Huddell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Delaware, within the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. She leads the UD Agroecology Lab, focusing on sustainable nutrient cycling in agroecosystems.
- Education: Postdoc at University of Maryland; Postdoc at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Ph.D. from Columbia University; B.A. from American University.
Research Interests: The UD Agroecology Lab investigates how diversified cropping systems, alternatives to synthetic fertilizers, and enhanced soil nutrient pools can improve nutrient cycling efficiency while reducing environmental impacts such as eutrophication and greenhouse gas emissions. Research integrates field, greenhouse, lab, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and synthesis methods across scales from field to landscape.
