Dr. Aditi Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her research focuses on cancer biology, specifically targeting endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress pathways and hypoxia-induced ischemia neuroprotection. She has developed innovative models using colon cancer spheroids and patient-derived organoids to study chemotherapeutic efficacy.
Research Keywords: Unfolded Protein Response, Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress, Oncogene-Tumor Suppressor Signaling, and Molecular Mechanisms of Hypothermia.
Scientific Contributions:
- First to identify FoxM1-RASSF1A signaling crosstalk in metastatic colon cancer
- Developed combinatorial therapies targeting ER stress pathways
- Collaborated with Dr. Jaylyn Waddell to study neonatal brain pathology
Selected Awards:
- Travel Awards from ASBMB (2008, 2010)
- Best Poster Award, Pediatrics Research Day (2022)
- Advisory Board Member, Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences (2021)
