Adeola Atobatele is a Lecturer in the Biological Sciences department at Staffordshire University, affiliated with the Health, Education, Policing and Sciences faculty. His research focuses on cancer signaling pathways, particularly in prostate and colorectal cancers, with expertise in transglutaminase-2 (TG2) enzyme mechanisms. He holds a PhD from Nottingham Trent University (2019) and has extensive teaching experience in molecular biology and genetics modules.
- BSc Hons Biochemistry (Bowen University, Nigeria, 2010)
- MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Greenwich, UK, 2013)
- PhD Biosciences (Nottingham Trent University, 2019)
His research investigates the role of TG2 isoforms in cancer progression, with recent work exploring heparan sulphate-dependent TG2 externalisation in renal and epithelial cells. Publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches in biochemistry, cancer biology, and biocatalysis applications.
Teaching roles include module leadership for Chronic Multifactorial Disease and contributions to molecular genetics and applied scientific practice courses. Professional memberships include the Royal Society of Biology and Biochemical Society.
