Dr Adekunle Ogunsade is a Senior Lecturer in Business Management at Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University, Faculty of Business and Law. He joined DMU in 2016 and has since held teaching and leadership roles, including Module Leader for Global Business and Finance and former Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Business and Management top-up. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and actively contributes to academic and professional communities.

Dr Ogunsade’s research focuses on Institutional Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, Small Business Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Education, with a strong emphasis on Africa. His work bridges theory and practice, analyzing how formal and informal institutions shape entrepreneurial behavior and policy. He is particularly interested in youth entrepreneurship and inclusive development.
His recent publications explore institutional determinants of entrepreneurship in Sub-Saharan Africa, youth entrepreneurial orientation, Africapitalism, and the role of socio-cultural institutions in tech entrepreneurship. These works reflect a consistent focus on governance, innovation, and policy implications across African economies.

Dr Ogunsade actively supervises PhD students and has secured research funding through projects like the Fin Tech Innovation Network and YEAP, where he serves as Co-Founder and Vice President. He is a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and collaborates with international research teams. His consultancy includes startup incubation, lean business modeling, and bootstrapping strategies.
He is affiliated with the People Organisations and Work Institute (POWI) and the Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (CEI), contributing to interdisciplinary research on enterprise and innovation.
