Deji Olagboye

Deji Olagboye is a Lecturer in Business and Management at the School of Leadership, Management and Marketing, Faculty of Business and Law, De Montfort University (DMU), Leicester, UK. He holds a PhD in Business and Management Studies and an MSc with Distinction in Accounting and Finance, both from DMU, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Associate of CITN.

His educational background includes:

Dr. Olagboye's research centers on entrepreneurship and SME development, particularly in African contexts. His interests span sustainable business models, innovation and change management, strategic processes, corporate governance, and financial solutions for small enterprises. He explores how institutional frameworks and ethical practices impact enterprise survival and growth.

His recent publications focus on sustainable entrepreneurship in Africa, enterprise survival in Sub-Saharan Africa, and informal entrepreneurship's path to institutionalization. These works reflect a strong thematic focus on development-oriented business strategies, institutional dynamics, and sustainability in emerging economies.

His scientific honors include:

• Commendation for Outstanding Performance, DMU (2007)

Dr. Olagboye has contributed to impactful research projects such as the East Midlands Top 500 Businesses Index (2020, 2021) and the Local Contracting and Sub-contracting Research with Leicester City Council. He mentors students through teaching and supervision and integrates his 15+ years of industry experience in financial services and SME leadership into his academic work. He is an active member of the Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (CEI) at DMU.

He teaches modules including Contemporary Business Issues, Leadership and Change Management, Business and Sustainability, and Managing Change and Innovation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
