Dr. Adam J. Hepburn is a 150th Anniversary Vice Chancellor's Fellow in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at Aberystwyth University. His research focuses on glaciology, particularly subglacial hydrology and the geomorphological impacts of ice dynamics on Earth and Mars. He has held prior research positions at Durham University, the University of Waterloo, and the European Space Astronomy Centre.

Adam Hepburn specializes in the flow of water beneath ice masses, using numerical modeling, fieldwork, and geomorphological analysis. His work spans terrestrial glacial systems in Finland, Austria, and New Zealand, as well as Martian periglacial and glacial environments. He investigates how subglacial processes shape landscapes and leave detectable signals long after ice retreat.
