Professor Adam Guastella holds the Michael Crouch Chair in Child and Youth Mental Health at the University of Sydney, with joint appointments at Sydney Children's Hospital, Westmead and the Brain and Mind Centre. He leads the Child-Neurodevelopment and Mental Health Team, a multidisciplinary collaboration addressing complex challenges in neurodevelopmental conditions for children and families.
His research focuses on translational neuroscience approaches to develop novel treatments by studying the neurobiology of social behavior and its development in early life. He has created mental health programs for adults on the autism spectrum and maintains an active research profile examining ADHD management, strengths-based assessments, and digital health interventions.
Professor Guastella's work emphasizes collaborative partnerships between researchers, clinicians, and services to ensure children and families receive optimal assessments and treatments.
