Dr. Adam Gavarkovs is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. He holds advanced degrees including a PhD in Health Professions Education Research from University of Toronto, an AM in Public Health Nutrition from Harvard, an ScM in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences from Brown, and a BHSc in Health Promotion from Western University.
His research focuses on health professions education and instructional design, particularly examining self-regulation, motivation, and educational interventions in medical training contexts. He developed the influential PACE Model (Purpose, Adaptability, Confidence, Engrossment) for motivational design in health professions education, which has been validated through multiple randomized controlled trials.
Recent publications demonstrate his expertise in online learning methodologies, educational evaluation frameworks, and behavioral interventions spanning medical education, public health, and clinical psychology domains. He collaborates extensively on community health initiatives and evidence synthesis projects while promoting rigorous data analysis methods in health professions education research.
