Merrick Zwarenstein is a Professor at Western University's Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, holding dual appointments in the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His work spans multiple research clusters including Chronic Disease & Multimorbidity, Global Health, Health Services Research, Knowledge Translation, and he serves as leader of the Randomized Controlled Trials cluster.
Holding an M.B.B.C.H and PhD, his research centers on methodological rigor in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics. Key focus areas include chronic disease management, multimorbidity patterns, global health disparities, health services evaluation, knowledge translation frameworks, and randomized controlled trial design. His work bridges statistical methodology with practical healthcare implementation across diverse populations.
As leader of the Randomized Controlled Trials cluster, Dr. Zwarenstein directs collaborative projects spanning chronic disease management and global health initiatives. His departmental role in Epidemiology and Biostatistics supports cross-disciplinary health research while advancing knowledge translation frameworks to improve evidence-based healthcare delivery.
