Adam C. Ehrlich

Adam C. Ehrlich, MD, MPH is a Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where he serves as Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He holds dual leadership roles as Medical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program and Program Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Ehrlich received both his MD and MPH from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and his Gastroenterology fellowship at Temple University Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology.

His clinical expertise centers on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as C. difficile infection management and fecal microbiota transplantation. His research focuses on IBD epidemiology and addressing disparities in gastrointestinal care. Dr. Ehrlich has been featured in media including a 6 ABC 'Moves in Medicine' segment highlighting innovative IBD treatments at Temple.

His publications reflect his clinical interests in gastrointestinal emergencies and specialized pain management for patients with liver conditions. Recent activities include providing perspective to HealthCentral on de-intensifying therapy for IBD patients (March 2025) and participating in Gastro Journal Club discussions (December 2024).
