Abigail Green

Abigail Green is Professor of Modern European History at Brasenose College, University of Oxford. Previously a Title A Fellow at St John's College Cambridge, she teaches British/European history (19th-20th centuries) and co-convenes the Long 19th Century Seminar.

Her research examines nationalism, Jewish internationalism, humanitarian philanthropy, and liberalism. Award-winning publications include Moses Montefiore: Jewish Liberator, Imperial Hero (Sami Rohr Choice Award, Times Literary Supplement Book of the Year).

Research methodologies combine transnational history with analysis of religious/cultural identities in state-building processes.
