Adam Green is Associate Professor in the Departments of Race, Diaspora, & Indigeneity and History at the University of Chicago. His research examines modern US history through lenses of African American community formation, urban development, and racial politics. Publications include the award-winning book 'Selling the Race' (2007), analyzing Black cultural agency in mid-20th century Chicago.
Green serves on the board of the Karla Scherer Center for American Culture and is a Senior Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts. His current project is the Official Oral History of the Obamas.
