Abhilash Thadathil

Abhilash Thadathil is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) since 2017, specializing in the political economy of development, governance, and social exclusion. He earned a PhD in Politics and International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2013.

• Research focuses on tribal communities, land rights, and policy analysis
• Recipient of the Inequality and Poverty Programme Fellowship at LSE and SOAS (2017)
• Supervised two PhD candidates

His work addresses agrobiodiversity management, forest conservation, and educational access for marginalized groups. Recent publications examine land alienation in Kerala and integrated development dilemmas.

Scientific awards include the Inequality and Poverty Programme Fellowship. He teaches Political Economy of Development and co-teaches Qualitative Research Methods at the PhD level.
