Abdullah T. Antepli is a Professor of the Practice at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy, serving as Director of Polis: Center for Politics. He is a globally recognized leader in cross-religious and cross-cultural dialogue, focusing on public policy, interfaith relations, and social justice. His roles include former Muslim Chaplain at Duke (2008–2014) and founder of the Shalom Hartman Institute's Muslim Leadership Initiative. Antepli holds an M.Div. from Hartford Seminary and a B.A. from Ondokuz Mayıs University (Turkey).
Research & Grants: He leads initiatives such as the Polis Civil Discourse Project (funded by the John William Pope Foundation) and the North Carolina Spring Leaders Forum on Public Safety. His work addresses public safety, criminal justice reform, and community engagement.
Teaching: Teaches courses like "The Good Life: Religion, Philosophy, and Life's Ultimate Concerns" and Policy Choice as Value Conflict, emphasizing ethical decision-making and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Awards & Recognition: Honored as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2023), recipient of the Daniel Pearl Award (2022), and recognized for teaching excellence at Sanford (2023).
