Abdulai Iddrisu is an Associate Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at St. Olaf College. A Ghanaian native, he holds a PhD in African History (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2009), an M.Phil (University of Cape Coast, 1998), a BA in History (University of Cape Coast, 1991), and a Certificate in African Studies (Northwestern University, 2002).

His research focuses on Islamic Reform Movements, Muslim identity in Ghana, and interactions between Islamic and Western education. He combines archival research and life history methods to explore religious conflict, gender dynamics, and colonial legacies.
Publication trends reveal a commitment to Islamic education, transnational religious movements, and ethical dimensions of historical events. His 2023 article on the Atlantic Slave Trade and 2021 book on Wahhabism in Ghana highlight his interdisciplinary approach.
