Dr. Abby Wang is an Associate Lecturer in Skills Development at the School for Business and Society, University of York. She has taught at institutions including the University of Edinburgh, Birmingham City University, Newcastle, and York St. John University, with experience in the Middle East and Asia.
Her research focuses on cross-cultural education, ESL academic writing, and international student engagement. She has published on topics such as EAP teacher training in Sino-British cooperative universities and linguistic avoidance behaviors among adult Chinese immigrants.
Her work bridges applied linguistics, second language acquisition, and cross-cultural pedagogy, emphasizing practical applications in higher education. She has presented at conferences like BALEAP (2017) and the University of York Annual Learning and Teaching Conference (2015).
