Abbie-Rose Hampton is a Research Fellow at King’s College London’s Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, School of Global Affairs. She holds a PhD in Global Health & Social Medicine (2024) and dual degrees from Keele University: a Bachelor of Laws and an MA in Human Rights, Globalisation and Justice. Her research focuses on international law’s role in global health crises, particularly pathogen access and benefit-sharing systems. She currently leads the Leverhulme Trust-funded project ‘The Past, Present and Future of Pathogen ABS’, examining justice frameworks during health emergencies.

Abbie’s work bridges legal and ethical dimensions of global health equity, addressing topics like pandemic preparedness, vaccine distribution justice, and WHO governance.
Her recent publications critique the efficacy of Access and Benefit-Sharing mechanisms in pandemic treaties and analyze WHO decision-making during emergencies. She collaborates with institutions like the Welsh Government and Open Philanthropy, contributing to policy reforms in health law and governance.
