Aave Hannus is a Lecturer in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Tartu’s Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Psychology (0.30 FTE since 2024). He also serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Institute for Health Development (0.80 FTE since 2023). His career includes roles across multiple University of Tartu faculties and institutes, including prior positions in the Faculty of Medicine and Exercise and Sport Sciences.

Research Interests: Focus on sport psychology, physical activity determinants, and psychological aspects of health behaviors. Key areas include:
- Child and adolescent physical activity patterns
- Psychological mechanisms in exercise motivation
- Visual search and cognitive biases in action contexts
- Public health interventions targeting physical activity
