Aarthi Ramlaul

Dr. Aarthi Ramlaul is an Associate Professor and Discipline Lead at Buckinghamshire New University, where she leads the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, MSc Diagnostic Radiography (Pre-Registration), and PGCert Interventional Radiology programmes. Previously, she served as Principal Lecturer and Programme Leader at the University of Hertfordshire, training approximately 1,700 radiographers. She holds a B.Tech (Rad) from South Africa, MA and EdD from the University of Hertfordshire.

Her research focuses on critical thinking development in radiography practice, ethico-legal challenges in AI integration, and addressing awarding gaps in higher education. She is an advocate for patient care standards and qualitative research in healthcare inequities.

Dr. Ramlaul has authored five textbooks in medical imaging and radiotherapy, with her 2010 seminal research text remaining a core reference in UK radiography programmes. She is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council, Society and College of Radiographers (UK), and Society of Radiographers (South Africa).
