Aaron Werth is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine. He combines his academic role with a full-time industry position as Managing Director leading Analytics and Visualization in Deloitte’s Audit Innovation practice.

Aaron's research and professional interests center on Audit Analytics, where he leverages data science and technology to enhance audit effectiveness. His work bridges traditional audit methodology with cutting-edge innovations in data visualization and analytics. He is passionate about integrating technology into audit processes to deliver greater value to clients and improve audit quality.
Aaron has been instrumental in advancing audit innovation at Deloitte, most notably by co-creating Cortex, a data gathering, repository, and processing platform that won the “Best Idea” award in Deloitte’s first-ever Audit Innovation Challenge. He actively promotes analytics both internally and externally, speaking at events such as AAA conferences and recruiting forums. His expertise spans forensic technology, data assurance, and audit methodology, developed over 16 years at PwC and leadership roles at ACL Software.

Aaron advises on audit innovation and has contributed to numerous audit proposals at Deloitte. He previously led ACL’s client service division across North America and Asia and launched PwC’s Swiss Data Assurance practice.
He resides in Los Angeles, California, with his two sons, and while his former hobbies included SCUBA diving, travel, and surfing, his current focus is on family life and supporting his children’s sports activities.
