Raj Sawhney

Raj Sawhney is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems at The Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine (UCI). He contributes to the academic mission through teaching and research in cybersecurity, risk management, and IT audit.

Raj brings extensive professional expertise into his academic role, with deep experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, cloud security, and enterprise risk. His work bridges academic principles with real-world applications in multinational environments.

Raj is a certified professional holding the CISA, CRISC, CDPSE, CCSK, CFE, and CIST certifications. He is a recognized speaker and author, notably for ISACA, contributing to the advancement of audit and cybersecurity practices.

He currently serves as a Managing Director in CDW’s IT Audit and Cybersecurity Advisory practice, where he leads program strategy and risk advisory engagements for global corporations. His advisory work includes remediation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, audit reporting, and technology integration.

Raj has international experience from engagements in Germany, China, Singapore, and India, and previously worked with Big-4 firms KPMG and Deloitte Consulting. His background enriches the academic environment with practical insights into global IT governance and compliance.
