Prof. Dr. Ümran DAL YILMAZ serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Near East University, a position she has held since 2019. She played a pivotal role in founding the Faculty of Nursing and previously held leadership roles including Head of the Department of Nursing and Deputy Dean.
Her educational background includes:
- Born in 1965 in Lüleburgaz
- Graduated from GATA Health Vocational High School (1983)
- Bachelor's from Atatürk University School of Nursing (1989)
- Master's in Surgical Nursing from GATA Health Sciences Institute (1994)
- Doctorate in Surgical Nursing from GATA Health Sciences Institute (2002)
- Second Master's in Emergency Aid and Rehabilitation from Gazi University (1996)
Professor Dal Yılmaz's research spans Surgical Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Nursing Education, and Gender Inequality in Healthcare. Her work has contributed significantly to advancing nursing practices and education, particularly in surgical and emergency contexts. She has also addressed social issues in healthcare through her involvement in discussions on gender inequality in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
She has published numerous international and domestic articles in nursing journals, along with book chapters and patient education materials, reflecting a diverse scholarly output focused on clinical nursing and educational methodologies.

Throughout her career, Professor Dal Yılmaz has been an active participant in international and national academic events, serving as a speaker at congresses and symposiums. She has also contributed to the development of nursing education through initiatives such as establishing the Education Coordinatorship at GATA Nursing Organization and founding the Faculty of Nursing at Near East University.
