Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dolunay serves as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Chairperson of the Department of Media and Communication Studies at Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. With a dual background in law and communication, he has held progressive academic and administrative roles since 2013, including Assistant Professor (2019), Associate Professor (2022), and Vice Dean (2021).
Dolunay completed his LL.B. in Law at Near East University in 2013, followed by an M.A. in Private Law in 2015. He shifted focus to communication, earning his Ph.D. in Media and Communication Studies in 2018 with a thesis on digital-age press freedom in the TRNC context.
