Rae Lynn Haliday is a Lecturer at the School of Information, San José State University, specializing in Records and Information Management (RIM) and Information Governance (IG). She brings over 39 years of professional experience from the zoological sector, where she has led records management initiatives at AZA-accredited institutions. Her teaching includes MARA 284 – Seminar in Archives and Records Management, focusing on leadership and advocacy in RIM. Master's of Business Administration (MBA), 2005 Bachelor's of Science in Business Management, 2003 Her research and teaching interests span Records Management, Information Governance, Information Policy, Organization of Information, and Organizational Leadership. She is deeply committed to advancing professional standards in RIM through education and leadership. Rae is actively engaged in professional service, having held leadership roles in the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) and currently serving on the ARMA International Board of Directors (2024–2027). She has contributed to academic partnerships, strategic alliances, and the development of training programs for registrars in zoological institutions. Certified Records Manager (CRM) Chief Information Governance Officer (CIGO) ARMA International Company of Fellows (FAI) She mentors graduate students through internships in MLIS and RIM programs and has hosted up to 12 students annually. Her professional experience includes serving as Registrar at the Saint Louis Zoo since 1991 and prior roles at the San Antonio Zoo. She also teaches RIM at another university’s Division of Library and Information Science (DLIS) Program.
