Albert Sangrà is a Professor and researcher at the Open University of Catalonia, where he serves as director of the UNESCO Chair in Education and Technology for Social Change. He is also director of the Industrial Doctorates Programme at the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya). Sangrà was a founding member of the university (1994–1995) and held leadership roles including Director of Methodology and Educational Innovation until 2004, Director of the M.Sc. program in Education and ICT (e-learning) from 2006 to 2012, and Director of the eLearn Center (2012–2014).

He has served as a consultant and trainer for technology-driven education projects across Europe, America, Asia, and Australia, and held leadership roles in EFQUEL (former Vice-president) and EDEN (Executive Committee, 2003–2009).
