Sarah Hennies is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Bard College, based in upstate New York. A composer and percussionist, her work bridges musical innovation with sociopolitical and psychological themes, including queer/trans identity, psychoacoustics, and the neurology of creativity. She actively engages in acoustic ensemble composition, improvisation, film, and performance art. Her performances include prestigious venues such as MoMA PS1, Monday Evening Concerts, and the Whitney Biennial. Notable commissions span ensembles like Yarn/Wire and the Mivos String Quartet.
