Daniel Immel

Dr. Daniel Immel serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Piano Technique at Albright College and holds the rank of Associate Professor of Music at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in 20th and 21st century music performance, with notable achievements including a solo recital at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and a Guest Artist-in-Residence role at the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki, Greece). His academic credentials include degrees from Boise State University, Indiana University, and The University of Texas at Austin, complemented by studies at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France.

Research interests focus on contemporary musical works, exemplified by his critically acclaimed lecture recitals on Ligeti’s Piano Études. Dr. Immel has performed internationally with ensembles such as the Cypress String Quartet and the Kutztown University Wind Ensemble, and collaborates with artists like saxophonist Todd Oxford. He has also contributed to the Reading Symphony Orchestra’s “Know Your Symphony” series as a lecturer.

Award recognition includes a 2nd Prize win in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition and a Finalist placement in the Vienna International Music Competition. His career spans teaching roles at Louisiana Tech and Washington State Universities, emphasizing pedagogical innovation in modern music interpretation.
