Thomas Offermann

Prof. Thomas Offermann is an internationally renowned guitar pedagogue and performer, currently holding a Professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. He leads an international master class and serves as Artistic Director of the International Guitar Academy Berlin. His career spans over 40 countries with radio/TV broadcasts and 8 acclaimed CDs. Known for pioneering adaptations of contemporary works (e.g., Chick Corea, Frank Zappa) through DUO SONARE, he has been praised by Chick Corea for 'so much feeling and beauty'.

Research focuses on integrative movement theory in guitar technique, reflected in publications like Modern Guitar Technique (2019) and Moderne Gitarrentechnik (2015). As a conductor, he collaborates with composers such as Sérgio Assad and Carlo Domeniconi, who have written ensemble works for him.
