Tracy Anne Smith

Dr. Tracy Anne Smith is an Assistant Professor of Guitar at the School of Music, Memorial University of Newfoundland. Recognized for her expressive performances and rich tonal palette, she has performed and taught across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Italy, Germany, Spain, and England. She holds degrees from the University of Toronto (B.Mus.), Yale School of Music (M.Mus.), and Peabody Conservatory (D.M.A.).

Their upcoming 2024 Naxos CD release, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, highlights her contributions to contemporary music.

Dr. Smith has received the Theodore Presser Prize and is celebrated for her solo CD Lilac.Star.Bird, praised by Soundboard as 'exceedingly beautiful' and Minor7th for her 'masterful playing.' Her work bridges classical traditions with innovative modern compositions, emphasizing interdisciplinary musical exploration.
