Daniel Myssyk is a Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Activities at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) since 2007. A Canadian-American conductor, he previously served as Music Director of the Montreal-based Orchestre de chambre Appassionata (2000–2016) and as Assistant Conductor of the Richmond Symphony until 2024. He leads orchestral tours in the U.S. and Canada, collaborates with youth programs like RSYO (Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra), and works with regional ensembles such as Virginia Senior Regional Orchestras and Hampton Roads Chamber Players.
