Steven M. Corns

Dr. Steven M. Corns serves as Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, with affiliations at the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (1401 N. Pine Street, Rolla, MO).

Research centers on Evolutionary Computation—specifically information transfer mechanics in evolutionary algorithms—and Model-Based Systems Engineering for complex systems design/analysis. Applications span military infrastructure modeling and medical device development, emphasizing heuristic solvers and streamlined regulatory frameworks.

Current leadership roles include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Virtual Forward Operating Base project and biomedical challenge team.
