Stephen Harrison is a Professor of Latin Literature at the University of Oxford since 2008. Previously, he served as Professor of Classical Languages and Literature (2004-2008), Reader in Classical Languages and Literature (2000-2004), and has been a Fellow and Tutor in Classics at Corpus Christi College since 1992, following a Teaching Fellowship there from 1987 to 1992.
Research Interests span Latin literature and its reception, with a focus on the ancient novel, Horace, Vergil, Apuleius, Roman culture, and literary theory. His work bridges classical studies and interdisciplinary approaches to reception studies.
Honors and Awards include membership in multiple international academies and honorary doctorates from prestigious universities.
