Rose M. Brewer is Morse Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor and former chair of African American & African Studies at University of Minnesota, with affiliate appointments in Gender/Women/Sexuality Studies and Sociology. She holds MA/PhD degrees in Sociology from Indiana University and completed postdoctoral studies at University of Chicago.
Research expertise spans:
- Black feminist theory and praxis
- Intersectional analysis of race, class, gender
- Political economy of social inequality
- Transformative social movements
Author/editor of influential works including The Color of Wealth, The U.S. Social Forum: Perspectives of a Movement, and Rod Bush: Lessons From a Radical Black Scholar.
